Bio

The Blue News are an American indie rock band originally from Terre Haute, Indiana. The style of their music is influenced by the blues, classic rock, 90s rock, modern alternative and more. The band formed in 2006 when singer-songwriter James Orndorff was offered an album release deal from indie label Statue Records Hollywood after A&R heard a demo. James started writing for a new album, formed the band, and invited several local musicians to help record and play the songs live in shows around the Midwest. Their unique brand of music fuses catchy guitar riffs, emotional vocals and hard-hitting drums - all coming together to create raw rock and roll energy. In reviews, the band's sound has been compared to The Black Keys, Soundgarden, and even the legendary Led Zeppelin. In 2007, two songs by the band were placed in the television series Road Trip Nation, giving the band their first national media exposure. This initial exposure was followed by over a dozen song placements in television series, video games and film - including the Netflix series Bloodline and the video game Rebel Galaxy. In 2019, songs by The Blue News reached over a million streams on Spotify and YouTube combined.

Currently, the band is working on a new single called "Feel Alright" that they plan to release on Friday, March 3, 2022.
